Hello!!! It's Monday again and I have some awesome things to spill. First,
I love and miss you all. Second, this week has been fun. We have an
investigator named Jordan King and he is on date for a BAPTISM!!! It's
awesome!! He is 19 years old and struggles with a terrible home, but he
wants the gospel in his life. He really is the coolest guy ever and he
reads and prays all the time for help. He says he can feel the
Holy Ghost every time he prays or reads, Talk about GOLDEN!!
Another investigator is a 20 year old boy named Quentin, he has had
trouble with gangs and other bad stuff. But he is also on point for a
BAPTISM!!! By the way, all these investigators are new from this past
week...all are brand new. Quentin is also reading and praying and
he loves the feeling that he gets when we meet. Talk about another
GOLDEN investigator!!!! We received a member referral Tuesday for an investigator named Sven. He is 25 years old and retired from the military He does
not believe in God because he has not seen his hand in his life, but
we went and talked to him about the Book of Mormon and how it blesses people.
So let me rewind a little, he does not believe because he only
believes stuff he can see. He used the example of gravity. He has seen enough times that stuff falls and so he believes in gravity. So I quickly pounced on that and said, well the Book of Mormon is our way of seeing the truth just like with gravity. If you read and pray about it enough times you will believe so I said the Book of Mormon is our way of knowing God is there for you. During the discussion I was prompted to ask him about Baptism....I just point blank asked him and he said when he gets that comforting feeling when he reads and prays he will be......BAPTIZED!!! 3 in one week! That's awesome!!! The Lord is great and marvelous. We are working hard and obedience is paying off. We had Christmas parties this week and WOW did we get fed. I feel like I'm in a Tongan ward. Yesterday Elder Garver and I saw the Northern Lights, WOW are they beautiful. I tried to take a picture but they are super hard
to grab because it's too dark. But here are some pictures.
I love you all!!! Love, Elder Orton
